Aim and content: The project served to prepare a research group for science didactics, with which we want to initiate systematic didactic research on university teaching and studies, network researchers and, among other things, contribute (in the long term) to establishing university didactics in the sense of science didactics as a sub-discipline of educational science. This possibility exists because higher education didactics already designates the field of research ("higher education") in its name, similar to educational or scientific research. In addition, the concept of didactics has disciplinary potential, the speciality of which - in contrast to general didactics - lies in the teaching and learning object "science", which is why the term science didactics is particularly appropriate. The project first reconstructed past major application initiatives for university didactics; then, under the coordination of the HUL, a concept paper was drawn up with internal and external cooperation partners from UHH. The aim was to develop a draft proposal for a DFG research group, which was submitted as planned in summer 2021.
