Insel der Forschung 2.0.
The Island of Research brings together didactic materials for research-based learning that were developed as part of the BMBF-funded FideS and FideS-Transfer projects. The island consists of a graphic interface based on WordPress, which depicts the research cycle as interdisciplinary as possible. Behind the individual research steps are thematically assigned materials, tools and links. Thanks to funding from the Innovation in Higher Education Foundation, the Island of Research can be further developed in terms of content and form in the years 2023 to 2025. The overarching goal of the project is to present both existing and new materials on the Island of Research in a clearly organised way and thus support scientists, teachers and students in research-based learning.
The further development of the content of the island is characterised on the one hand by the collection and preparation of statements and case studies in which teachers, students and doctoral candidates report on their experiences with research-based learning. The statements and case studies are presented on the island in both German and English. On the other hand, the Island of Research will be supplemented by the topic area of tutorials, in which specific materials will be developed to help tutors support research-based learning.
In addition to these focal points, the project aims to improve the accessibility and usability of the island, develop interfaces to OER portals and increase awareness of the interactive collection of materials.
