HUL-Workshop and Certificate Program
For lecturers at the University of Hamburg we offer about 40 university workshops per semester in higher education in the areas of teaching, management, exams and media competence.
Teaching includes all activities that foster student learning.
Management includes all activities that higher education teaching staff are expected to oversee in their managerial capacities.
Exams include all activities related to the development of exam quality.
Media includes all activities related to the sound and thoughtful use of digital media in teaching, examining, and management.
Skill sets differentiate between planning skills and situational skills.
Planning means developing concepts, proposals, teaching and study material, media, and management tasks, i.e., preparing for teaching, exam, and management duties and the daily use of digital media.
Situational refers to the immediate teaching, exam, management, or media-supported context; implementing plans; updating proposals, etc. Acting situationally means responding flexibly and competently even in unpredictable circumstances.
These workshops are aimed at both lecturers who are new to teaching and experienced university lecturers who want to reflect on their teaching and develop their teaching skills.
The workshops can be taken individually and can be combined into a total of four certificates.
