DUTy
Digital University Teaching Literacy
"Digital University Teaching Literacy" (DUTy) is a sub-project in the "Digital and Data Literacy in Teaching Lab" (DDLitLab), which is funded by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education from 2021 to 2024.
With the increasing penetration of digital technologies in society, the ability to teach digitally (or hybrid) is becoming an integral part of teaching skills at universities - regardless of the subject matter. Digital University Teaching Literacy refers to the fundamental ability of teachers to organise their teaching with digital technologies in such a way that the intended educational and learning objectives are achieved.
The overall DDLitLab project aims to integrate digital literacy education (DLE) into existing curricula and develop innovative teaching projects and is based at the ISA (Interdisciplinary Study Programme).
The DUTy sub-project is specifically focussed on qualifying teachers and student tutors for digital teaching, which is why the sub-project is led by the HUL. There is also close cooperation with the HUL staff for qualification and research.
A navigator, which is being developed as part of the sub-project, is intended on the one hand to clearly structure the existing (centralised and decentralised) qualification offerings at Universität Hamburg and thus make them even more accessible. On the other hand, the existing offer is to be specifically expanded to include digital self-learning material, interactive information and exchange formats as well as counselling concepts with a focus on digital literacy education. The aim is to ensure the long-term availability of all content beyond the end of the project, whereby cooperation with the established eLearning network of the University of Hamburg will be sought.
